DFN Project Search South Ayrshire

Biosphere Bikes is excited to announce our partnership with DFN Project SEARCH South Ayrshire, an inspiring initiative designed to support young adults (ages 18-29) of diverse abilities in gaining valuable workplace experience.

This program was a collaborative effort between Ayrshire College, Girvan Youth Trust, and the National Trust for Scotland, aiming to provide these individuals with the skills and confidence needed for future employment.

The participants were an incredible help to our team, working diligently on various tasks such as tidying up our garage and counting bikes, ensuring that our operations ran smoothly. Their hard work and dedication were truly appreciated.

We were proud to be part of a project that not only empowered young people but also strengthened our local community by supporting local charities like ours.

Biosphere Bikes is proud to partner with Girvan Academy to offer a unique 6-week Little Mechanics course for students. This exciting opportunity allows children from the Girvan Academy to learn the essential skills needed to maintain and care for their bicycles, with hands-on experience that will serve them well for years to come.

Every Wednesday, the sessions are expertly led by our skilled engineer, Walter, who kindly volunteers his time to teach the students. Walter's wealth of knowledge and experience ensures that each participant receives top-quality instruction, gaining valuable insights into bike maintenance and repair.

Through this course, students will deepen their understanding of bike mechanics and acquire practical skills in keeping their bikes in optimal condition.
