Community Bike Library 2025

Looking for a longer-term hire?

Biosphere Bikes is delighted to offer a community bike library to Girvan. The bike library consists of access to E-bikes and a variety of conventional bikes.

This bike library is aimed at people who permanently reside in the KA26 post code and caters for adult cyclists, 16 years and over (18 yrs for E-bikes). We offer loan bikes for 3 months with no ongoing maintenance costs.

If the bike fails, we will fix or replace it with another one. After 3 months, borrowers are required to return the bike and can apply again after a clear month has passed.

This system allows as many people as possible to access a bike from the community library.

There is a bike for everyone, and we have a wonderful selection of bikes in the library for all shapes and sizes, abilities and distances. Our active travel bikes are suitable for tracks as well as roads.

Booking

Bikes will be available for collection from the Biosphere Bikes shop and community hub at 121a Henrietta Street, Girvan, KA26 0AE, on Tuesday to Saturday between 9 am and 2 pm. On the booking form below, please select the time slot for pick-up. If another time or day is required, please contact via email biospherebikes@gmail.com to arrange pickup.

Conditions prior to bike loan application

  • You must be 16yrs or over (18yrs for E-bikes)

  • You must live in the KA26 postcode

  • You must provide photo identification (if not, a photo will be taken and kept until the bike is returned)

  • You must provide proof of address (last 3 months)

  • You must have somewhere inside, garage or house, to securely store the bike

  • You must agree and adhere to the full terms and conditions here
