Cycling Without Age Scotland (Girvan)
Biosphere Bikes is very excited to be affiliated with Cycling Without Age Scotland. (CWAS) Check out what they do at cyclingwithoutage.scot. CWAS aims to improve the lives of the elderly and disabled by giving them access to outdoors using Trishaw rides. It’s a fantastic project. This very much aligns with what Biosphere Bikes is trying to achieve by accessible and inclusive cycling activities whether you can cycle yourself or not. The Ayrshire Leader programme has funded a Trishaw for the Biosphere Bikes project and this is now part of the CWAS chapter. All activities with the Trishaw will be at no cost to the users. We currently have 3 trained pilots but are always looking for willing volunteers to train as Trishaw pilots. All training will be done by CWAS. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer pilot or work in a care home or know someone who would benefit from Trishaw rides then please get in touch. This a picture of the Trishaw. It is electric assisted so easy to pedal. The hood can go up or down and on those slightly chilly days there is a lovely waterproof fleecy blanket that goes with it, there are also 2 seatbelts.
