OUR PARTNERS
Biosphere Bikes is delighted to collaborate with Girvan Youth Trust (GYT) in supporting skills development and community engagement. Through the Hand-in-Hand groups, young participants have helped build shelving and work counters at our shop, gaining hands-on experience in practical skills, numeracy, teamwork, and problem-solving. This initiative not only enhances their confidence but also fosters collaboration and a strong sense of achievement. We are proud to provide a space where young people can develop valuable skills while contributing to their community.
Biosphere Bikes has supported young people from Kyle Academy with educational support needs by first running a basic maintenance course, followed by an intermediate course. In addition to developing their skills, the group also earned their SALTIRE Volunteer Award by volunteering and helping to recycle bikes. We are proud to provide opportunities that build confidence, practical skills, and a sense of achievement.
Accessible kart, disabled toilet & disabled improvements
Biosphere Bikes supports young people from Girvan Academy with educational support needs by introducing them to bike maintenance skills, helping to build their confidence and abilities. We are currently running a six-week basic bike maintenance programme at our community hub, providing hands-on learning opportunities for a group from the school. At the end of the program, participants will receive a completion certificate recognising their achievements.
Biosphere Bikes is proud to be part of the Thriving Community Multiply Project, offering a variety of courses designed to enhance numeracy skills and build confidence with numbers. These courses cater to various needs, including boosting confidence in numeracy for everyday tasks, supporting parents who want to improve their numeracy skills, and helping individuals upskill for better job and career opportunities. Additionally, the program teaches practical numeracy skills for better financial management and is developed in collaboration with community organizations to ensure accessible and relevant learning. Through this initiative, we empower individuals with essential skills that improve daily life, employment prospects, and financial well-being.
FUNDERS
Biosphere Bikes would not exist without the unwavering support of the Girvan community. From the very beginning, their generosity and kindness have been instrumental in bringing this project to life and sustaining its growth.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued partners and supporters for their ongoing commitment and contributions.
Biosphere Bikes is proud to partner with Cycling Without Age Scotland (CWAS) to promote accessible and inclusive cycling for all. Thanks to funding from the Ayrshire Leader Programme, we now have a Trishaw as part of the CWAS chapter, allowing us to offer free rides to elderly and disabled individuals who may otherwise struggle to access the outdoors. CWAS provides expert training for our volunteer Trishaw pilots, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
